Taylor Acorn Brings Back The Myspace Era On Dashboard Confessional's Fall Tour

The 2000's called–and Taylor Acorn answered! The pop-punk artist joined Dashboard Confessional and Boys Like Girls on their 28-city wide tour this fall. They eventually made their way to Seattle, and played at the Showbox SODO on October 13th. Acorn opened the night, and easily won-over and warmed up the audience. Acorn's earlier releases leaned significantly more into pop and country genres, which later shifted into a mix of emo and pop-punk. Her stripped covers of Matchbox 20's "Unwell," and Blink-182's "First Date," unearthed her true audience. By 2023 she released her debut EP Certified Depressant, which landed her very first headlining tour. Festivals all across the U.S. and Europe picked up on her talent and her music career has blossomed since. This year, she finally released her first full-length album, Survival In Motion. Sh0w-goers got to hear a special mixed setlist from Acorn. Freshly released as of October 11th, fans got to hear "Final Nail" – with unfortunately, no live feature from Charlotte Sands – and from Certified Depressant, we heard "I Think I'm In Love," "Sticking Around," "Coma," and "Psycho." Having the honor to hear "Psycho" and "Sticking Around" live, personally, was one of my favorite moments from her set. Fans who genuinely appreciate her music didn't fail to dance around to the colorful setlist. Additionally, fans got to hear "Greener" and "Birds Still Sing" from Survival In Motion. Part of me wishes we also got to hear "People Watching," as it's one of my other favorite songs of hers. One can only hope. All in all, Taylor Acorn is fantastic at what she does. In the past she's supported bands like Grayscale and Real Friends, and now the legendary band Dashboard Confessional. If you are looking for a new female-fronted pop-punk artist to obsess over, give Acorn a listen. Her live sets are some of the best I've seen.Keep up with Taylor Acorn here, Boys Like Girls here, and Dashboard Confessional here.
